Alphabet Sports Zone

Bringing our community together through sport, recreation and movement.

For the second year, Alphabet Sports Collective is bringing the Alphabet Sports Zone to the Capital Pride Street Festival on Sunday, August 30.

The Alphabet Sports Zone brings queer and trans sport, recreation and movement organizations together in one welcoming, interactive community space. Throughout the day, festival attendees can meet local organizations, discover opportunities to participate, and try activities designed to get people moving.

But you don’t have to consider yourself an athlete to take part.

We know that many 2SLGBTQIA+ people have complicated relationships with sport. Some have found community and belonging through it. Others stopped participating because they didn’t feel safe, welcome or represented. And some have never had the opportunity, or invitation, to see themselves in sport at all.

The Alphabet Sports Zone is about creating another starting point.

Whether you want to discover a new sport, reconnect with an activity you once loved, meet people in your community, or simply try something for a few minutes, there is a place for you.
